Welcome to the Healthy Opportunities for Physical Activity and Nutrition (HOP'N) Child Care online community network. The HOP'N Network is a community of child care providers and teachers interested in making small changes to their routines to improve the health and wellness of their children.
The HOP'N (Health Opportunities for Physical Activity and Nutrition) Child Care Network is supported by training and a set of curriculum resources targeting children between the ages of 3 and 5 and their families. In addition to providing suggestions for center and family child care practices, HOP’N child care helps engage parents to impact their children’s home physical activity and diet practices as well.
Child care leaders gain knowledge about our project management learning framework, receive training on a 12-week program with bi-weekly newsletters and home connection activities, and learn how to adapt and sustain the activities in their programs. The HOP’N home training may count for professional development staff training hours.
HOP'N was developed by in part by a grant from the United Methodist Health Ministry Fund to Kansas State University.
